I will never buy anything from Central Chef again and I will not recommend them to anyone. Not happy about their customer service. Emailed Central Chef and they basically called me a liar and said I must have hit against the side of my sink rather than admitting that maybe I got a faulty glass. Terrible customer service if you ask me. I have several glasses similar to this one so I know you need to hand wash them and be very careful. I had washed this one and put it on a towel to dry and it shattered. I would rather have someone tell me "Unfortunately there isn't much we can do for you, however here is a gift certificate for 10% off your next purchase".
The beer glass is tall so it doesn't fit in the cupboard with the rest of my glasses so had to find another taller cupboard to put it in. Yes, you have to be very careful with these products. NO SWEATING GLASSES EITHER. The bottom line is they are great. I recommend NOT washing the beer glass in the dishwasher because it would have to go on the bottom due to its height and could fall over. I wash them carefully by hand mostly, but have washed the 15 ounce glasses and the bowls in the dishwasher with no problems yet.
Coasters are not required for these glasses. I bought this tall beer glass, two 15 ounce glasses, plus four bowls. I can eat hot soup out of the bowl while holding the bowl in my hand - great for TV watching. Its height could make it awkward and easy to knock over as well but all the precautions are worth it because your beer is ice cold to the last drop.
but what's the point of buying glasses if you are not going to use them. I am very disappointed with the functionality of the product. Both broken glasses spontaneously cracked at the bottom while it was sitting on the desk holding a drink. These glasses have been incredibly sub standard - my cheap ikea glasses I bought for $5/dozen have fared better. Other than using them for everyday-use, we have been very careful with them - they've been washed with a soft sponge, we have a designated space in the cabinet to store them (not stacked), etc.
Maybe these glasses are meant to be put away in some display case, only to be used for special occasions. At first, I thought someone had accidentally slammed it, but I actually witnessed the spontaneous cracking when the second glass broke. These glasses are just not cut out for everyday use. It's been about a little over a month since I purchased a sizable quantity of these glass for home everyday use (assorted sizes, 24 count total), and two glasses have spontaneously cracked on us. We have been using the glasses to drink warm (hot chocolate) and cold drinks (iced beverage).
I'm a sucker for good designs, but I expect a reasonable level of durability.
Then read a lot of reviews and now am very nervous about using it. Should come a two glass set for the price. Thought the glass was really cool when I bought it. Still works as advertised and is still cool.
